Types of Failures
The most common reason we see Android devices for recovery is logical failures. This is when your device is working, but you can’t access the data you need. Common causes for this include accidentally deleted data or software corruption.
Otherwise, we typically see devices which do not function due to physical damage. This could include phones or tablets that have water damage or other liquid penetration or devices that have suffered a destructive drop onto a hard surface.
Be Careful With Recovery Software/Apps
Be careful with any software you may download to try to recover files on your own. The Android environment offers great openness, but this can compromise security. Some third-party software purporting to fix logical issues is malware, and other “data recovery software” may recover some files but cause further damage to others.
